Why does it say that the studio is temporarily closed? The tintype studio in Dallas is unfortunately closed while Ellen focuses on her career in social work. I do have every intention of reopening my studio in 2025.
What is a tintype? A tintype is the second form of photography invented. It uses a chemical process to produce a direct positive image of silver on a black coated piece of aluminum. The tintype process was invented in 1851, and I use the original chemical recipes to produce your one-of-a-kind portrait. It is most commonly remembered through civil war photographs and can be thought of as the Polaroid of the 19th century.
